FAQ
Common questions about SERP Radio and how we turn flight markets into sound.
How do you get flight prices?+
We aggregate pricing data from multiple sources and update our cache regularly. The prices shown are indicative of current market conditions, though actual booking prices may vary slightly.
What does the music mean?+
Each route's audio vibe is generated from its market data using our VibeNet engine. High valence (good deals) produces brighter, more positive sounds. High tension (volatility) adds dissonance. The tempo reflects market energy. It's a way to 'hear' the market state.
Is this real-time?+
Our swarm worker scans routes periodically (typically every few hours) and updates the visibility cache. The 'last scan' timestamp shows when data was last refreshed. For booking decisions, always verify current prices with the airline.
What do the VET bars mean?+
VET stands for Valence, Energy, and Tension. Valence measures deal quality (green = good deal). Energy measures market activity (amber = prices changing). Tension measures volatility risk (red = watch out). Together they give you a quick read on the route's state.
Why do some routes say 'SURGE'?+
SURGE indicates elevated prices or high tensionâusually due to events, holidays, weather, or supply constraints. It's a signal to either book quickly before prices rise further, or wait for the surge to pass.
What is Grok/Parallel?+
Grok (from xAI) is our reasoning engine that analyzes price data and generates trend explanations. Parallel Search provides real-time web context (news, events, weather). Together they power the 'Why this price?' insights.
Can I book flights through SERP Radio?+
Not directlyâwe're a market intelligence tool, not a booking engine. We help you understand when and where to look for deals. For booking, use your preferred airline or travel site.
What airports do you cover?+
We focus on flights from NYC-area airports: JFK, EWR, and LGA. We cover popular destinations across the Caribbean, Europe, and domestic US routes.
How is the audio generated?+
Our VibeNet engine converts VET values into MIDI, selects appropriate sound packs (steel drums for Caribbean, synthwave for urban routes, etc.), and renders to MP3. Each route has a unique, listenable audio signature.
Is my data being tracked?+
The audio vibes contain no user identityâonly market context. We sonify aggregate pricing data, not individual searches or bookings. Standard web analytics apply to site visits.
