How It Works
SERP Radio transforms real-time flight market data into audio vibes you can hear. Every route has a unique sound based on its pricing dynamics.
🎛️ The VET Vector
Every flight route is analyzed and assigned three core metrics that drive both the visual display and audio generation:
Valence
Deal quality and market positivity. High valence means prices are favorable—a good time to book. Low valence indicates elevated prices or poor value.
Example: A $98 flight that's usually $142 → High valence (0.8)
Energy
Market activity and price movement. High energy means prices are changing frequently. Low energy indicates a stable, predictable market.
Example: Prices fluctuating $50+ daily → High energy (0.7)
Tension
Volatility risk and uncertainty. High tension signals potential price spikes or drops. It's the 'watch out' indicator.
Example: Storm approaching destination → High tension (0.6)
🔊 The VibeNet Pipeline
VibeNet is our audio sonification engine that turns market data into music:
Data Adapter
Flight pricing data is normalized and fed into a domain-specific adapter. Caribbean routes use the 'Kokomo' adapter with steel drums and tropical vibes.
VET Computation
The adapter calculates Valence, Energy, and Tension from price trends, historical averages, and external signals (events, weather, strikes).
Sound Pack Selection
Based on the route's region and vibe state, we select an appropriate sound pack—from synthwave to Caribbean steel drums to ambient pads.
MIDI Generation
VET values drive MIDI note selection, tempo, and effects. High tension adds dissonance; high valence brightens the chord progression.
Audio Rendering
MIDI is rendered to MP3 with loudness normalization. Every track is listenable and representative of its route's market state.
🧠 Grok & Parallel Intelligence
We use AI to understand why prices are what they are:
Grok 4.1 (xAI)
Our reasoning engine analyzes each route's price data and external context to generate trend reasons—human-readable explanations like "Art Basel week" or "Off-season pricing + Tuesday departure."
Parallel Search
High-precision web retrieval provides real-time context snippets—news about events, weather alerts, airline announcements—that inform Grok's analysis and surface in the UI.
🔒 Privacy & Ethics
The audio vibes contain no user identity—only market context. We sonify aggregate pricing data, not individual searches or bookings. The sound represents the market state, not you.
